• Look for a dba (decibels) rating on each unit to determine how loud the unit operates (the higher the dba or decibels, the higher the noise level will be) 38 to 45 decibels is whisper quiet running

• Higher end Units have more operating cycles, Sanitize Cycles, High Heat Wash, Delicate Cycles for things like delicate china, Delay Functions so that you can run your unit when you are not at home or when you are sleeping for example, Steam Features, Dry Boost, Express Wash, wifi downloadable cycles and remote start capability
• If you don’t use a dishwasher that much, and you don’t mind a higher level of noise, you probably only need a all plastic interior budget friendly unit
• If you are running your dishwasher when you are not at home, noise level won’t be an issue

• Some Dishwashers have fan assisted drying which can speed up the drying process, but may increase the noise level

And Top Hidden Controls. Front Controls are installed in the front of the door panel, where you have easy access to selecting the right setting for a dishwashing cycle. Top Hidden controls are located at the top of the door panel, and when the door panel is closed, you won’t see the panel buttons or Screen, they will be hidden from view. So your choice is to decide if you want easy access to the controls at the top of the door panel, or do you want a clean aesthetic look with hidden controls that don’t show when the dishwasher panel door is closed.

Dishwasher Interior Choices

Plastic Interiors

Budget Friendly Dishwashers have all Plastic Interiors. The inside of the tub is plastic, the inside of the door is plastic. All plastic interiors are still quite durable, and can last for years to come.

Hybrid Interiors

Hybrid Interiors are usually in mid range Dishwashers, with a combination of stainless steel and plastic. Usually the inside of the door panel is Stainless steel, and the tub is plastic.

Fully Stainless Interiors

Higher end Dishwashers will have Stainless Steel Inside the door panel, and a full stainless steel tub. All Stainless steel interior dishwashers will be more durable and absorb more noise resulting in a quieter smooth running machine.

Third Rack

Newer Models feature a third rack for washing utensils, which you can remove the bottom utensils rack for more dishes or the third rack can be used if you have more utensils than the utensil rack will hold

Higher End Dishwashers have more customizations to the third rack

• All Stainless Units are more energy efficient by retaining heat during the cycle requiring less energy
• All Stainless units can sanitize your dishes better

Cons

• They cost money upfront to purchase the dishwasher
• They cost money in electricity
• Top Hidden Control Dishwashers can sometimes be hard to open and use if your kitchen counter top sticks out
• All Plastic Interior Dishwashers are a little more noisy than All Stainless interior units
• Lower priced Dishwashers have fewer operating cycles
